What is an analysis method?
If you've already entered data onto an empty data table, it is too late to using cloning or templates -- at least without copy and pasting. But it is not too late to apply a method to your data. Effectively, this means telling Prism to analyze (and graph) the new table just like you already analyzed (and graphed) an existing one. This is called using a Method.
Method by example
To analyze your new table exactly like you have already analyzed another table in the same project:
| 1. | Click the Analyze button, |
| 2. | choose Method by Example in the upper left corner of the analyze dialog |
| 3. | Select a table to use as an example. |
Saved methods
To apply a saved method:
| 1. | Go to any data table in any project and press Analyze. |
| 2. | At the top of the Analyze Data dialog, choose "Saved method." |
| 3. | Choose a category and method. |
| 4. | The new data will be analyzed and graphed according to your method. Note that you can choose to place a prefix before the sheet name of all graphs and analysis results generated by the method. |

|
When you apply a method to a data table, the column format of the new data table does not have to match the column format of the data table used to create the method.
|
To save a method:
| 1. | Go to the data table, and from the File menu or Prism toolbar, select Save Special… Save Method. |
| 2. | Choose a category, or create a new one. |
| 3. | Then enter a new name for the method file or choose to overwrite an existing method. |
| 4. | Optionally, enter a description. |
