Adding graphs to layouts

How do you add a graph to a layout?

To add a graph to a layout, choose one of three methods:

Drag a graph from the Navigator and drop onto an existing placeholder or anywhere on the layout page.
Copy and paste graphs from other Prism projects (see below.)
Double-click on an existing placeholder and select a graph from the current project or any other Prism project. Use the Size and Layout tab to position it on the layout, or just drag it around and size it however you want.

To add a new graph placeholder to an existing layout:

Click the Layout button on the Change toolbar to open the Format Layout dialog. Check the box to "Add one more graph to the page."

Placing a graph from one project on a layout of another

1. Choose the graph

Choose one of two methods:

Copy a graph from one project and paste on a layout of another.
Double click on any graph placeholder on a layout. The dialog lets you choose a graph in any project.

2. Choose whether the graph is linked or merged.

Whichever method you choose above, Prism will pop up a dialog with three choices:

Link to the original Prism file. In this case, if you edit the original file, the changes will be reflected in your layout. Prism can maintain the link only if the relative location of the two files doesn't change.
Merge the graph, along with its data tables and analyses, into the project you are working on now. The advantage of this approach is that everything will be in one project. The disadvantage (which some consider to be an advantage) is that the data now exist in two files.
Paste a picture with no link to the original data. You wont be able edit these graphs without going back to the original project. You might prefer this option if you are sure the graph is 100% done, and you dont want to allow any possibility of it being changed.
