The Summary connecting lines GDO draws a line connecting the summary values across the levels of the categorical axis variable. One point on the line is calculated per group; groups with no data produce a gap in the line. This GDO is distinct from the Connecting lines GDO, which connects individual data points rather than group summaries.

Summary value

The Summary value type determines the position of each point along the continuous axis. Unlike other summary GDOs, this setting applies to the entire GDO and cannot be varied per group. The available summary values are:

•Mean

•Median

•Geometric Mean

Line appearance

The following options control the appearance of the connecting line and apply to the GDO as a whole:

•Color: stroke color.

•Thickness: stroke thickness in points.

•Style: options are Solid, Dash, Dot, DashDot, and DashDotDot.

The Summary connecting lines GDO does not support a color legend.
