Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make a graph with multiple X axes? More than two Y axes?

FAQ# 567    Last Modified 1-January-2009

Each Prism graph can only have one X axis, and one or two Y axes.

  • Create separate graphs, and then combine them on a layout.
  • Make a "graph" with an invisible X or Y axis and no data, no titles, etc.--nothing but an axis--then combine this "graph" with another graph on a layout.
  • Normalize the X or Y values so different variables are on the same scale, maybe "percent of control".

If you're interested in a graph with two parallel horizontal lines, one running through the origin and the other showing the X-axis calibration, read this reference about two "X-axis lines".
