Uses of the Format Axes dialog

The first tab lets you makes changes to the frame and origin, and to choose a color for the page background and the plotting area.

The middle tabs let you format the X axis, the left Y axis and the right Y axis.

The last tab lets you turn axis (or graph) titles on or off, and choose their font and distance from the graph.

How to change the color or thickness of one axis

In rare cases, you may want to change the color or thickness of one axis and not the other(s). Or you may want to make one axis white (or whatever your page background color is) to make it essentially invisible. To do this, select the axis, drop the Change menu and choose Selected Object. Then change the color or thickness in the Format Object dialog.
