I'm trying to activate Prism but the machineID is missing

In order to activate Prism, Prism will generate a machineID to be used during the activation process. Sometimes Prism will fail to generate the machineID.

We've only seen this in a few cases on macOS and not on WIndows.

To resolve, try resetting the network configuration.
To reset network configuration:

1. Open the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ folder in Finder.

2. Delete the NetworkInterfaces.plist and preferences.plist files (requires admin privileges).

You can also do it using the Terminal application, so run the following commands (requires admin privileges):

sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist

sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist

3. Reboot.
