Bug: Copy and pasting column titles in tables with subcolumns in 5.03.

This problem is new to Prism 5.03 and is Windows only. It happens when you:

  1. Create an XY or grouped data table with subcolumns
  2. Copy  only the column titles
  3. Paste onto a new table (or other columns on this table).

If you have three subcolumns, then Prism 5.03 will paste two blank column titles between each pair of titles. For example, if you copy titles from columns A, B and C, and paste onto a new table, the titles will paste onto columns A, D, and G.

There are four workarounds:

  • Rather than copy and paste column titles from one table to another, duplicate the entire table (and then erase the unwanted data).
  • Copy more than the column titles. Also copy some of the data table itself. When you do this, copy and paste works fine.
  • Copy and paste one column title at a time.
  • Clone a linked graph, which will make a duplicate of the data table with the choice to delete X and/or Y values.
