Bug: Prism 6.02 often crashes when you add data sets to a graph.

Prism 6.02 will often crash when you add data sets to a graph using the "Add" button on the middle tab of the Format Graph dialog. Fixed in 6.03 -- please update.

Workarounds:

  • Avoid adding data sets to your graph. Many people only use the graphs automatically made by Prism, but don't realize that you can create new graphs by clicking the New button and choose Graph of existing data. The next dialog lets you choose which data sets to include on a graph. Then you can then "magic" to make its appearance match an existing graph. The buttons (on middle tab of Format Graph) to remove and replace data, work fine. Only adding data sets leads to the crash.
  • Make sure you have automatic backups enabled, so you don't lose work if Prism does crash.
