GraphPad Prism 7 and Microsoft Office 2016
We test every release of Prism with the latest version of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word. We do not test Prism with the other products in the Office suite: Exchange, Lync, Sharepoint, OneNote, Publisher, Access, infoPath, Project, Visio, OneDrive (but we haven't heard of any issues with these programs).
Here is a list of minor issues with compatibility between MS Office and GraphPad Prism 7.
- If you paste a Microsoft Equation into Prism, it may be corrupted when you then export that graph (with equation) as pdf.
- If you double click on a Prism object in Word or PowerPoint, Prism 6 may display "invalid license". Details and workaround. Fixed in 7.01.
- Greek/Math special characters are incorrectly pasted from MS Office applications to Prism's row and column titles in data table.
- If you ask Prism to update a data object linked to an Excel file, you'll see a misleading message if a file with the same name (but from a different folder) is already open in Excel.
- If you double click on a graph in Word or PowerPoint that is linked to a Prism file, you don't see a message if that file exists but the graph you linked to has been deleted.
- If your column width in Excel is too narrow, so the value is not shown, then you can't copy/paste it to Prism.
- Paste linking data from Excel to Prism doesn't work when the Excel file is on a mapped drive which is in fact a shared folder between the host and the guest virtual machine.
