How can I place angled text onto a Prism graph?
Prism 4 allows free rotation of text objects. First enter the text horizontal. Then selecte the entire text object (different than selecting all the characters in the text). Then drop the Change menu and choose selected text. On the Format Text dialog, you can choose "angled" and then enter the angle. This works only for free text objects (entered by clicking the "T" text tool). Graph and axis titles cannot be rotated (except for Y axis titles which can be horizontal or vertical up or vertical down).
Prism 3 lets you make text objects be either vertical or horizontal, but you can insert angled text from another program:
- SmartDraw lets you freely rotate text (and any object). You can insert a SmartDraw object into Prism by clicking the SmartDraw button on the Prism 3 toolbar. This button appears only if SmartDraw is installed on your system. Learn more at www.smartdraw.com. SmartDraw also lets you insert tables into Prism.
- WordArt, which is part of Microsoft office, allows you to rotate text to any angle, as well as create other text effects. Click the WordArt button ("ABC") on the Prism tool bar to create a WordArt object within Prism. Then click the rotate button on the WordArt screen to specify a rotation. The WordArt button will only appear on the Prism 3 screen if WordArt is installed on your system.
