How can I slow down the scrolling on a data table?

This is a common problem when making a large selection on a data table by dragging the mouse. The table shifts under the mouse cursor so fast that it's difficult to control the process. Try one of these techniques:
  • Use the arrow keys, rather than the mouse, to select. Hold "Shift" and then use the up, down, left, or right arrow keys to extend the selection.
  • For longer selections, click on one end (corner) of the selection area, then hold down "Shift"while you scroll to, and click on the other end (corner) of, your selection.
  • If your selection area begins at the the top left extreme of the table, try dragging from the bottom right corner back toward the upper left corner, where the scrolling will stop automatically.
