How do I handle data with more replicates than Prism can accept?
You can have up to 500 sheets of each type (including data tables) in a single Prism project. Each data table can contain:
- Any number of rows (limited by RAM and hard disk space). We've tested hundreds of thousands of rows.
- Up to 2048 data set columns. Prism 9 allowed 1024. Prism 8 only allowed 256. Prism 5 only allowed 104.
- Up to 512 subcolumns. Prism 8 only allowed 256. Prism 5 only allowed 52.
For things like one-way ANOVA, column scatter, box-and-whisker plots, or column bar graphs, start with a column data table and enter your data with the replicates stacked in a column, rather than in subcolumns. This is not a solution when you have X values and you want to fit curves or draw XY graphs, or if you are performing two-way ANOVA.

For an XY or grouped graph, enter up to 512 replicate values in side-by-side subcolumns or enter the mean, SD (or SEM) and N, calculated elsewhere.
