Prism stability issues on macOS 15.0.1 Sequoia while using cloud services

Prism crashes or freezes unexpectedly after the release of macOS 15.0.1 Sequoia

After upgrading to macOS 15.0.1, users have reported that various applications including Prism are experiencing crashes and freezing issues when opening or saving files. This sort of issue has been reported by multiple users on Apple's support forums. Examples of more detailed feedback including references related to cloud services may be found here and here.

Why does this happen?
The issue is related to cloud services on macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 and can be attributed to a combination of factors, primarily stemming from the complex interplay between the operating system, third-party software, and the underlying cloud services infrastructure.

How to resolve it?

To resolve this issue, update your macOS to version 15.1.1 or newer. The feedback from Prism users and our QA team indicates that this update successfully fixed the problem.

For those using earlier macOS versions, some users have found solutions that you may try:

  • Disabling iCloud sync (navigate to System Settings > Apple Account > iCloud > Drive > Sync this Mac), as well as OneDrive's backup feature and/or Adobe Creative Cloud Sync.

  • Saving files to a folder that is not synced.

  • Completely uninstalling other cloud services from their Macs and then reinstalling them.
