What are the new survival analysis updates in Prism 10.5?

Prism 10.5 introduces several powerful enhancements to Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, designed to automate manual steps, provide richer insights and improve reporting.

  • 95% Confidence Interval for Median Survival
Displayed in the data summary tab

  • Multiple Pairwise Comparisons
Run pairwise survival curve tests with P values and summary statistics

  • Automatic Number at Risk Table
    Auto-generated under survival graphs

How do I access these new features?
If a feature isn't available with your current Prism plan, you'll see a helpful notification when you try to access it. Contact GraphPad support to discuss any aspects of your license or to upgrade your plan.

Existing Kaplan-Meier Features

I am on the Legacy plan, has any existing Kaplan-Meier functionality been removed in Prism 10.5?
No. All core Kaplan-Meier survival analysis features remains available - including those on the Legacy plan. This includes survival curve plotting, log-rank testing and summary statistics. Nothing has been removed or restricted.

However, upgraded plans unlock automation, richer statistical comparisons and more efficient reporting. Ideal for users who need more speed, depth and scalability in their survival workflows.

3 New survival analysis features in Prism 10.5

95% Confidence Interval for Median Survival All plans

What is the new feature regarding median survival?
In the Data Summary tab, Prism now reports the 95% confidence interval for median survival.

Multiple Comparisons of Survival Curves Standard + Enterprise

Can I now compare multiple survival curves directly?
Yes. A new Multiple Comparisons tab in Analysis Parameters enables pairwise comparisons. If you currently perform comparisons manually, this feature can streamline your workflow. Choose how Prism compares groups by:

  • All-vs-all
  • Each vs. control
  • Custom pair selection

Is this feature available to all users?
Upgrade to Standard or Enterprise to unlock availability.

Number at Risk Table Enterprise

What is the number at risk table and where is it displayed?
Prism now auto-generates a number at risk table under your Kaplan-Meier graph. This includes:

  • Subjects at risk per group, per time point
  • Cumulative censored events
  • Auto-syncing with X-axis, colors and graph size for dynamic updates

Can I remove the number at risk table?
Yes. Click the table and press Delete. To disable it by default, go to Survival Analysis Options > Model, uncheck "Show number at risk table," and set as default.

Is this feature available in all versions?
Upgrade to Enterprise to unlock availability.

How do I upgrade to access these new features?
