Prism and Microsoft OneDrive
Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud storage service that allows you to store your files and data online. With Microsoft Office and OneDrive or SharePoint, multiple people can work together on a Word document, Excel spreadsheet, or PowerPoint presentation. When everyone is working at the same time, that's called co-authoring. OneDrive supports simultaneous changes on one file from multiple people on different computers. However, some applications, including Prism, may not support co-authoring or simultaneous editing.
Currently, it is possible to store Prism files in OneDrive. However, because Prism currently does not support co-authoring, there are some issues that you may encounter.
"Processing changes" status
When using the "Save" function to save a file from Prism to a OneDrive synced folder on a computer, the file gets stuck with "Processing changes”. This may happen while Prism is running and the file is in use or the file is currently open. If Prism is closed along with the file, OneDrive should finish processing the changes, and the file will be synced to the corresponding folder in the cloud.
Note that this issue is not unique to Prism. There are numerous reports of this kind on the web when people see this error with other apps.
Suggestion:
According to the comments from this Microsoft troubleshooting page - If OneDrive shows “Processing changes" for a long time, it could be because you have an online file open, lots of files stuck in a queue, or a very large file syncing. In this case, it is because the file is open. If you've already closed the file and quit Prism but you still see the “Processing changes" for some time, refer to the tips Microsoft provided on this page.
"Deleted files are removed everywhere" alert appears after performing the 'Rename This File..." action in the OneDrive folder on Windows
This alert may occur when working with Prism and OneDrive on Windows. The file should be saved in a local OneDrive folder and previously synced. While the file is open in Prism, open the File menu and select "Save special... > Rename to...". This then causes an alert to be displayed with the alert text "Deleted files are removed everywhere." Understandably, this may cause some confusion.
This issue occurs because Prism thinks that you are saving a new file with the same name, and - as a result - deletes the old one. Essentially, Prism replaces the existing file with a new one (to you, this "looks like" renaming the file, but to OneDrive, the file that was synced is being deleted, and a new one is being created).
Suggestion:
For now, you should save and close the project and wait until the sync has been completed. Then you can rename the file in the local OneDrive folder or directly within OneDrive.
