The File.. Send mail command is not available (Prism Windows). Using Prism 4 all three menu choices under File..Send mail are gray; using Prism 3 the menu choice File..Send mail is gray.
The Send Mail menu choices are only available when Prism is allowed to send messages to your email program using the MAPI protocol. For this to work, you must:
- Configure Windows to allow use of MAPI. Look in your win.ini file in the Windows folder. Find the section labeled [Mail] and make sure that it says "MAPI=1". You also need to make sure that Windows looks at the win.ini settings. To check this, click Start, then Run, then enter MSCONFIG. On the first tab of that system configuration program, check the option to process the WIN.INI file. After editing the WIN.INI file or changing the MSCONFIG settings, you will need to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
- Configure your email program to allow other programs to send it messages using the MAPI protocol. The details differ between programs. With Eudora, the settings are in the MAPI section of the Options dialog.
