Troubleshooting pasting Prism tables into Word

Prism 5

Prism 5 copies tables as tables (using HTML format), and they should paste as a table in Word. If it doesn't work, email us the Word file so we can see what went wrong.

If you copy all or part of a data table (or a green Prism results table;i.e. transformed data), it will paste with as many digits as Prism knows. So even if you have formatted the table to show only one digit after the decimal, it will paste with several. There is a workaround. Instead of pasting into Word, paste into Excel instead. Within Excel, use the Format Cells command to show fewer digits after the decimal point. Then select  and copy from Excel and paste into Word.

Earlier versions of Prism

Earlier versions of Prism copied tab separated text to the clipboard. This does not look like a table when pasted. After pasting into Word, select the entire results table (which doesn't look like a table yet). Drop the Table menu (within Word) and choose "Convert text to table". Finally, use other commands on the Table menu to make the table look attractive.
