Why are downlward error bars missing from some points or bars?

If your Y axis is logarithmic, it cannot plot negative values or zero. If your error bar would go down to a negative number, Prism simply can't plot it on a logarithmic axis. In this case, you'll see an upward pointing error bar but no downward pointing bar.
