Why does Prism Mac display "Type 2 (or Type 11) error"?

Here are some possibilities:
  • If your Prism Mac is version 2, you may not have a printer selected, particularly if you have just installed to a new computer. Although Prism will run fine on a Mac with no printer attached, you still must select a printer (so Prism can get information about page size, margins, etc.). To select a printer, pull down the Apple menu and select "Chooser", then choose any commonly used printer.
  • Try increasing the amount of memory allocated to Prism by your computer. To do this, select Prism application (not the alias on the desktop), go to File menu -> Get Info -> Memory and increase the amount of Minimum and Preferred memory.
  • Try turning off virtual memory. To do this, go to Apple menu -> -> Control Panel -> Memory and in the Virtual Memory section of the Memory dialog select OFF radiobutton.
