Why is the Decimal Format command and button gray?

The Decimal Format command will change the number of digits shown after the decimal point for selected data sets. It is gray in these situations:

  • No data sets are selected.
  • The data selected are Y values of a survival table. These columns must contain an integer which encodes whether a particular subject died or was censored at the time specified by the X value.
  • The data selected are on a contingency table. These values must be integers, as they are the actual number of objects of events that happened.

For the same reasons, when you paste or import into a contingency table or the Y values of a survival table, Prism will truncate the pasted or imported values to integers.
