Prism 11.0.1

Prism 11.0.1 was released on April 23, 2026.

Overview

This release removes the VBScript dependency from the Prism (Windows) installer, providing a workaround for installation failures on Windows 11. It also delivers app stability improvements and a range of math-related fixes across Nonlinear Regression, Correlation, Survival Analysis, Chi-Square Test, and Calculated Variables.

Feature Improvements

Math

  • Made Prism display an informative floating note when the confidence interval for the 'Phi coefficient' or 'Cramer's V' effect size cannot be computed due to perfect separation in the 'Chi-square test' analysis.
  • Improved the floating note text displayed in the 'Multifactor ANOVA' results sheet when the assigned grouping variable contained only one level, making it more descriptive and informative.

Non-math

  • Made it possible to install Prism without the VBScript feature, providing a workaround for installation failures on Windows 11.
  • Improved Prism's auto-recovery feature so that .pzfx files containing broken info sheets can now be opened successfully.

Performance

  • Improved the performance of Nonlinear Regression analysis on large datasets by optimizing initial values calculations that had caused an increased number of iterations, restoring calculation speed to previous Prism version levels.

Analysis-related Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where KD and ligand concentration values for calculating Ki were not saved or reflected in the Nonlinear Regression results when using the 'Ki from IC50' option with the 'Sigmoidal dose-response' or 'One/Two site competition' equation.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Not enough data' floating note unexpectedly appeared on the Correlation results sheet when the analysis was performed on a single Y data set with the 'Compute r for X vs. every Y data set' option selected.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Interpolated X mean values' tab of the Nonlinear Regression results sheet displayed incorrect results when the 'Y column, maintaining the side-by-side arrangement of replicates' option was selected in the 'Output' tab.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Data Summary' tab of the Survival Analysis results sheet unexpectedly omitted data sets that were deselected in the 'Analyze Data' dialog.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Interpolated Y values' and 'Interpolated X values' tabs unexpectedly appeared in the Nonlinear Regression results sheet when an X range was specified in the 'Range' tab of the parameters dialog.
  • Fixed an issue where Cramer's V unexpectedly appeared in the Hook constant dialog when Phi coefficient was selected in the 'Parameters: Chi-square test' dialog.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Narrative results' tab appeared empty on two-way ANOVA results sheets that contained floating notes generated by analyses.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Interpolated X mean values' and 'Interpolated X replicates' results tabs were missing from the Nonlinear Regression results sheet when both 'Don't fit the curve' and 'Only consider the mean Y value of each point' options were selected.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Interpolate X values' results tab was missing from the results of a Nonlinear Regression analysis performed on a multiple variables data table when the 'Interpolate unknowns from standard curve' option was checked in the 'Model' tab.
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Curve comparison' section options in the 'Options' tab of the 'Parameters: Simple Survival Analysis (Kaplan-Meier)' dialog were unexpectedly disabled when continuous variables were assigned as grouping variables.
  • (Windows) Fixed an issue where incorrect values were displayed in the 'Number of points' section of the 'Table of results' tab on the Nonlinear Regression results sheet when the analysis was performed on a multiple variables data table.
  • (Windows) Fixed an issue where checkboxes and radio buttons unexpectedly appeared unselected and dropdowns appeared empty in the 'Parameters: Simple Survival Analysis' dialog invoked from an orphaned results sheet.
  • (Mac) Fixed an issue where the options of the 'Curve comparison' section in the 'Model' tab of the 'Parameters: Simple Survival Analysis (Kaplan-Meier)' dialog were unexpectedly disabled.
  • (Mac) Fixed an issue where the 'Replicates' section was disabled in the 'Method' tab of the 'Parameters: Nonlinear Regression' dialog when the analysis was performed on a multiple variables data table.

Graphing Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where logarithmic axis numbering was displayed in the wrong format instead of antilog notation when the axis range exceeded 10^-14.
  • (Mac) Fixed an issue where a previously hidden plain frame unexpectedly reappeared on the graph after applying any changes to the axes.

Other Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Prism 11 failed to open projects created in earlier versions if they contained a 't test' analysis with a deleted variable, displaying a 'Cannot open file' error.
  • Fixed an issue where continuous variables could not be assigned as grouping variables in the 'Data' tab of the t test analysis.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when switching to a 'Paired t test' results sheet after applying a saved method from a multiple variables data table to a legacy data table.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when opening the 'Parameters: Simple Survival Analysis' dialog from an orphaned results sheet when the 'Compare the survival curve of each column' or 'Compare preselected pairs of survival curves' multiple comparisons option was selected.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when a calculated variable was edited to reference itself while being used in another calculated variable; this now correctly displays a circular reference error instead.
  • Fixed an issue where a calculated variable displayed incorrect values after the source variable it referenced was changed to a categorical type.
  • Fixed the ROUND function to correctly handle decimal place values outside the valid range (1–14) by clamping them to the nearest limit, and updated the function description accordingly.
  • (Windows) Fixed a crash that occurred when changing options in the 'Compare' tab of the 'Parameters: Nonlinear Regression' dialog opened from an orphaned results sheet.
  • (Windows) Fixed a crash that occurred when inserting a new variable on a data table before a calculated variable that referenced another calculated variable.
  • (Windows) Fixed a crash that occurred when adding a new Time variable in the 'Data' tab of the 'Parameters: Simple Survival Analysis' dialog with multiple comparisons selected, if the previous Time variable was unchecked in the 'Analyze Data' dialog or cut from the data table.
  • (Mac) Fixed an issue where calculated variables were not automatically updated after replacing their source variable's data with data pasted from the clipboard.
  • (Mac) Fixed a crash that occurred when attempting to perform Multiple Logistic Regression analysis on data entered in a non-multiple variables data table.
  • (Mac) Fixed an issue where the 'Commas' section was unexpectedly disabled in the 'Import and Paste Special Choices' dialog when pasting data containing comma decimal separators from Excel.
  • (Mac) Fixed an issue where the cursor was incorrectly positioned after the closing parenthesis instead of inside the parentheses when inserting a function from the 'Available Functions' list in the Data Inspector.
  • (Mac) Fixed an issue where clicking the Help button on the 'Data' tab in the 'Parameters: Nonlinear Regression' dialog opened an incorrect help page.
