Prism 11.1.0

This release expands Prism's support for multiple variables workflows with multiple meaningful additions: new graph types, categorical level ordering, and smarter variable selection in analysis dialogs. Alongside these additions, the release delivers more than 60 bug fixes targeting crashes, freezes, incorrect results, and UI issues across analysis, graphing, data tables, accessibility, and platform-specific stability on Windows and Mac.

New Graph Types for Multiple Variables Graphs

Included with Prism Pro and Enterprise

Prism 11.1.0 significantly expands the graph options available when working with multiple variables data tables. Users can now create a broader range of graph types that pair one categorical axis with one continuous axis, bringing the expressive power previously available in legacy table formats into the modern multiple variables workflow.

Why it matters: Multiple variables tables are the foundation of Prism's most flexible analysis workflows. Expanding the available graph types means researchers can visualize their data in the form that best fits their experimental design, without restructuring tables or switching to legacy formats.

Categorical Level Ordering

Included with Prism Pro and Enterprise

Categorical variables within multiple variables data tables consist of multiple different levels/values. Prism 11.1.0 offers updated controls from within the Format Data table dialog to specify the level order for the levels of each categorical variable on the data table. Choose from one of the pre-defined sorting methods (entry-based, row-based, frequency, or name), quickly reverse the defined level order, or manually rearrange the level orders to suit your needs. Additionally, define the display order of categorical levels in multiple variables graphs, providing complete control over the arrangement and display of your visualization. Prism now provides:

Custom ordering of categorical levels in graphs independently of the defined table order
Custom ordering reflected in analysis outputs
Intuitive interfaces for defining and adjusting level sequences

Why it matters: The order in which categories appear shapes how readers interpret a figure. Placing a control group first, arranging time points chronologically, or sequencing treatment arms by dose gives researchers direct control over the story their data tells.

Streamlined Variable Selection in Multiple Variables Analysis Dialogs

Included with Prism Pro and Enterprise

The Data tab in the Parameters dialogs for Simple Survival Analysis, t tests, Multifactor ANOVA, and Nonlinear Regression performed from multiple variables data now lets you narrow the available variables list to a specific variable type, and applies color coding to help you identify variables at a glance. Limiting the list to categorical or continuous variables makes it easier to find and assign the right variable for each role in the analysis, reducing clutter and the chance of assigning the wrong variable to the wrong slot.

Why it matters: Multiple variables tables can contain dozens of variables across different types. Narrowing the list by type and color-coding the variable entries makes it faster to find the right variable and harder to make configuration mistakes, especially in complex analyses with many inputs.

External Browser Activation

Prism now supports browser-based license activation, enabling users to authenticate through their organization's single sign-on (SSO) infrastructure rather than entering credentials directly in the application.

Reduces friction for organizations with identity management requirements

Why it matters: Many enterprise environments restrict or closely monitor in-app authentication. Browser-based activation lets IT teams apply their standard SSO policies to Prism, simplifying deployment and reducing the support burden for organizations managing licenses at scale.

Hierarchical Clustering and K-means Clustering parameter dialogs are now explorable by restricted-license users, allowing them to browse all analysis options before upgrading
Improved auto-recovery to handle corrupted project files created in older Prism versions that contained circular analysis parameter links where a parameter referenced a constant within the same analysis

Improved keyboard navigation in the Welcome dialog: all interactive elements are now fully keyboard-accessible with visible focus indicators
Fixed Shift+Ctrl+Arrow (Windows) and Shift+Command+Arrow (macOS) keyboard shortcuts in data tables to stop cell selection at the first empty cell instead of skipping empty cells and selecting through to the last cell in the table
Improved accessibility support for the main document window, including high-contrast color scheme compatibility, screen reader (Narrator) support for tables and notes, and keyboard navigation (F6/Shift+F6) to cycle through panes
Fixed insufficient text contrast in data table column headers, row headers, and 'Title' placeholders that did not meet the WCAG AA minimum ratio of 4.5:1

Fixed an issue where a "Disk or memory error occurred" alert appeared when applying the "Operational model - Partial agonist, X is log (concentration)" equation with a shared "logtau" constraint.
Fixed a crash when opening the "Hook Constants" dialog for a Nonlinear regression analysis on a multivariable data table when a variable title was an integer value.
Fixed an issue where the "Interpret" button on nonlinear regression result sheets with errors always opened the same incorrect help link regardless of error type.

Fixed an issue where the "You have not entered the right kind of data" alert did not appear when attempting a t test on a multiple variables data table with a single variable.
Fixed an issue where a "A subject variable was defined, but was not used" floating note persisted on unpaired t test results after the subject variable was removed.

Two-Way ANOVA

Fixed an issue where no floating note appeared on the Two-Way ANOVA result sheet when "Compare the means of preselected pairs of cells" was selected but no pairs had been defined.

Chi-Square

Fixed an issue where the floating note about perfect separation for the confidence interval of "Phi coefficient" or "Cramer's V" was not displayed when the A:1 cell contained a "0" value.

Other Analyses

Fixed an issue where superscript and subscript formatting in column and row titles was lost in Nonlinear regression, Correlation, and Chi-square result sheets and associated graph labels and legends.
