Do the Mac versions of Prism, InStat and StatMate run under Mac OS X?

This FAQ discusses GraphPad programs and Mac OS X 10.(X<6) Tiger, Leopard.  For information on GraphPad products and other versions of OS X, please follow these links:

Prism 5 and 6 are 'cocoa' applications that run under OSX 10.4 (TIger) or later.

Prism 4, InStat 3, and StatMate 2 are "carbon" applications that runs fine on any Mac OS 8.6 or later. When run under OS X, they have a native OS X interface. There are no separate OS X versions -- the same program runs under OS 8.6 to 9.1 or under OS X. Prism 4 requires OS X 10.1 or later (not 10.0).

Prism 3c for mac comes in two versions. Prism 3c is for OS 8.1 to 9.2. Prism 3cx is for Mac OS X. Prism Mac 3cx is a free update for people who have purchased Prism 3 Mac.

If you use Prism 3cx with OS X 10.2 (or later) you should know about two problems. One problem is that is that when you try to change the font of text, the font list is empty. To work around this problem, click in the empty font list, then use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to scroll through the list of fonts. The other problem occurs when you paste a Prism graph into another program, and then print. Vertical text is unreadable on some printers. If you can't switch to a different printer, you should avoid copy and pasting Prism graphs. Instead, export as a tiff file and then insert into the other program.
